Montclair
The Montclair district of Oakland is located in the Oakland Hills just East of the City of Piedmont. The shopping district of Montclair (known as Montclair Village) is located just above Moraga Avenue along Mountain Boulevard. Montclair Village lies at the bottom of the Montclair District. Above the village and on up to Skyline Boulevard the streets are winding and heavily forested, and dotted with mostly single family homes built primarily in the first half of the twentieth century. Many of these homes have sweeping views of San Francisco Bay.
Montclair is the proud home of several of Oakland’s highest ranking schools: Montclair Elementary, Thornhill Elementary, Joaquin Miller Elementary, and Montera Middle School. Montclair’s schools, beautiful public park, and central location make it an ideal home for many children and families.
