Piedmont

The city of Piedmont is surrounded on all sides by the city of Oakland. Originally a part of Oakland, Piedmont incorporated as its own separate city in 1907. Piedmont is primarily residential, with a handful of businesses and schools near Piedmont Park.

Piedmont boasts its own Police and Fire Departments, and it’s school district is consistently rated one of the top school districts in the state. Most homes in Piedmont date from the first half of the twentieth century. Piedmont home values are significantly higher than surrounding areas. Homes there include monumental estates, period revival homes, and grandiose versions of the Craftsman style home.
